Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane withdraws Constitutional Court appeal

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has withdrawn a Constitutional Court appeal. She was appealing the North Gauteng High Court suspension of her remedial action against Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.
Gordhan lodged an urgent application to suspend and interdict the remedial orders by the Public Protector, citing ‘improper motives’ on her part.
Mkhwebane found that Gordhan violated the executive ethics code in the SARS investigative unit matter. The Public Protector ordered President Cyril Ramaphosa to act against Gordhan within 30 days.

Controversial self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, appeared briefly in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Thursday.Bushiri, dressed in a black suit and white shirt, appeared joyful as he greeted his supporters with a wave ahead of the appearance. His wife was wearing a pink top and jeans. The followers sang songs and danced.
