Mixed reactions on freshly-announced provincial government in KZN
Political parties in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) have expressed conflicting views on the newly-elected provincial government.
This follows the appointment of a new premier and executive council for the seventh administration on Tuesday.
The African National Congress (ANC)’s Mafika Mndebele welcomed the appointments, saying the composition of the provincial government is what is best for residents.
“We then commit that all our MECs are going to work diligently and hard, they are going to ensure that they transform and continue to work of building.”
However, the opposition in the legislature, the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party is not convinced.
“We reject it, we are not part of the GNU [Government of National Unity], we don’t know what it means, we don’t know the after effect of it.”
