1 alleged protest instigator in police custody

One of the alleged instigators of looting and violence is in custody. Acting Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says the police are hunting 11 more suspects.
The government also has confirmed that 91 people have died in KwaZulu-Natal and 26 in Gauteng during the violent looting and unrest, taking the national death toll to 117.
Ntshavheni says the government is working tirelessly to ensure major routes and ports are reopened to ensure the free flow of goods.
