Parliament fire: No protection officers on duty

There are still no clear answers as to how Parliament’s security was breached on the second of January, leading to its main building being razed as opposition parties seek to lay the blame at the door of Public Works Minister Patricia de Lille.
The Public Works department says it can’t reveal information about CCTV footage or the damages sustained because the buildings are now a crime scene.
Parliament has confirmed none of its security protection officers was on duty that day.
