Nadia Nakai accused of protecting AKA

South African rapper AKA and his girlfriend Nadia Nakai have been trending this past weekend following allegations that they had an altercation during their trip to Ghana.

Although the two have since distanced themselves from the allegations, social media users are convinced that Nadia Nakai is protecting AKA.

AKA took to his Twitter account sharing two joint statements from him and Nadia. One statement sought to set the record straight following their Accra trip while the other one was to sue the publication, Daily Sun for defamation accusing them of running a false story about the two.

However, some social media users are convinced that indeed an altercation happened after Moonchild Sanelly who also spent the weekend with the couple in Ghana and had the same work commitments as Nadia chose not to comment on the issue.

Social media users have not been fully supportive of the couple from the onset and below are some of the comments from netizens.

@Nonkululeko tweeted, “I am judging Nadia for dating AKA in the first place. I will judge the next girlfriend of his, and another one after. I don’t care.”

@Nampree wrote: “Daily Sun is reporting that AKA hit Nadia. I’m not one to always believe articles because of my own experience but why would Moonchild say ‘No comment’ to something that did not happen? Wouldn’t she just say ‘that didn’t happen’ because she was there when the said assault happened?

@EvidenceBongwe wrote: “AKA and Nadia story. All I can say is that there’s no fire without a smoke,”

@Rumani wrote: “You all gave the relationship of AKA and Nadia too much hope. Ziyakhala manje.”
