Off-spinner Dane Piedt emerged as the standout performer, securing five wickets for 89 runs in 32 overs and three deliveries, marking a notable performance in a test match. Dane Paterson also contributed with three wickets for 39 runs in 17 overs.
Despite Kane Williamson’s top score of 43 for the home team, New Zealand finds itself trailing in the two-match series, with South Africa leading 1-0.
The Proteas aim to maintain their unblemished test series record against New Zealand, having never suffered a series loss in the country.
