COVID-19 cases expected to soar in KZN, says Professor Karim

The chairperson of the COVID-19 ministerial advisory committee, Professor Salim Abdool Karim, says KwaZulu-Natal is about to be an area of concern.
As the country heads towards its peak, Abdool-Karim says he expects infections to rise rapidly.
“The challenging setting right now is Kwa-Zulu Natal where the epidemic is rising quite rapidly and we can expect because of the population size that we will see a rapid increase in the number of cases,” he said.
The province has over 45,000 COVID-19 cases and 429 deaths.
