Our client, a market leader in the Fruit industry, requires an experienced Assistant Production Manager for their farm in Piketberg. The successful candidate will report to the farm’s Production Manager. It is important to take note that candidates with prior Farming and Fruit industry knowledge and experience will be given preference.
Production Duties:
Irrigation scheduling
Pruning
Weed control
Planting of citrus and vineyards
Application of fertilizer
Pest and plague control
Financial, HR and Administration Duties:
Labour planning
Recordkeeping
Cost control aimed at productivity
Candidate Requirements
Recently graduated with up to 3 years’ experience in the cultivation of table grapes and/or citrus
Agricultural Tertiary qualification or relevant qualification
Practical experience in managing a team of workers
Knowledge of table grape and/or citrus production practices i.e Pest Control, Pruning, Harvest and Packing
Computer literate – MS Outlook and Internet
A valid Driver’s license
Knowledge of maintenance/ irrigation systems will be advantageous
Salary on offer: R 100 000 – R 120 000 PA (Accommodation provided)
