PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

A well-established Engineering firm, based in Bellville South, requires an experienced Production Assistant to join their team

Grade 12, tertiary qualification advantageous
Drivers licence
MS Office
Advanced Excel skills
Must have an Engineering background
Previous experience in a Production role
Health and Safety knowledge
Assist in planning and maintenance of production schedules
Develop and daily update of all production schedules on both floors in conjunction with production managers and shop Foremen
Check incoming jobs
Develop and maintain maintenance schedules with Production Managers and ensure that Foreman implement these
Ensure that all jobs on the job register are on the production schedule
Ensure job register is up to date with regards to late list, delivery notes and order numbers
Transfer jobs from register to production list
Certificate of Conformance (COC), rewrite / redraft of job packs for customers
To check and file the work production documents (WPD)
Ensure consistent compliance to ISO9001
Ensure that all raised NCR’s are closed effectively
Ensure that all jobs on the floor are on the job register; all jobs on the job register are on the production schedule.
Monitoring production and adjusting schedules as needed in conjunction with Production Managers
Interacting and liaising with the other production teams to coordinate production daily
Liaising amongst different departments.
Managing all internal quotes.
Manage stock levels, ordering of new stock and placing orders
To support the production team in the delivering on the administrative and practical aspects of particular projects and the general business of the teams
Provide administrative support to the Production Manager (Delivery notes, certificates of conformance etc. as well as procurement of production related materials and services)
Provide admin support to Production Managers as well as Production Supervisor
Procurement and ordering of production related items, materials and services
Yearly equipment calibration and safety certifications
