SA looks forward to producing vaccines, says Zweli Mkhize

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says South Africa is looking forward to producing its own vaccines.
Mkhize says the French and German governments have contributed funds to Aspen and Biotech.
“What is important now is the discussion, the discussion we are having about the vaccine is that the French and German government have put in funds to help us support Aspen and Biotech so that they can create capacity,” he said.
“We are looking forward to South Africa being able to produce vaccines.”
Mkhize was speaking outside the Union Buildings on Friday ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosa and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron’s meeting.
