President Cyril Ramaphosa has briefed China President Xi Jinping on the African Leaders Peace Mission to Ukraine and Russia. The Russia-Africa summit is scheduled to take place next month.
The delegation includes the presidents of the Republic of Congo, Egypt, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia The mission is to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Tens of thousands including civilians have died since Russia invaded Ukraine in February last year.
President Xi Jinping has commended the initiative. He and Ramaphosa have also discussed their cooperation at BRICS and preparations for the upcoming summit.
