Ex-Gauteng CFO faces special tribunal for PPE corruption
Gauteng’s former health CFO, Kabelo Lehloenya, is in the hot seat on Thursday.
She’s expected to face the Special Tribunal for her alleged involvement in PPE corruption in Gauteng.
Lehloenya wants the province’s Premier, David Makhura, to be held accountable as well.
She believes that under his watch, reckless PPE tenders were approved and awarded.
Makhura called on the Special Investigating Unit to look into corruption claims following the COVID-19 outbreak last year.
He maintains that he had no involvement.
The SIU says R14,2-billion was allegedly looted from irregular PPE tenders.
