Fire causes power outage in parts of Roodepoort

Parts of Roodepoort are in the dark after two City Power transformers burnt down on Saturday morning.
The fire is said to have started at around 1 am on Saturday, taking down some vital equipment.
The fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire around 8 am.
Unfortunately, areas including Robertsville, Wipsey Dip, Putcoton, and Stormhill are without power.
City Power is currently attending to the outage but cannot confirm when electricity will be restored.
Investigations are ongoing and the extent of the damage is being assessed. The utility has apologized to affected residents.
