Prolonged power cuts in the Western Cape

People in parts of the Western Cape can expect prolonged hours in the dark.

This is due to a major fibre fault that’s affecting the remote-switching capabilities to various substations.

Eskom says there will also be delays in the return of power after outages.

The matter is being attended to but because of the extent of the damage, there is no estimated time for full restoration.
