Eskom announces Stage 1 weekend power cuts
Eskom is reducing power cuts from Stage 2 to Stage 1.
This will start at 5 pm until 10 pm.
Stage 1 will continue at the same time on Sunday.
The power utility highlighted that the shortage of generation capacity persists and that its systems are still constrained.
South Africans are urged to continue using electricity sparingly and to switch off all non-essential items.
Loadshedding will be reduced to Stage 1 from 17:00 this afternoon until 22:00 tonight. Stage 1 loadshedding will again be implemented the same time tomorrow afternoon. pic.twitter.com/jkfPtW10nK
