No power cut downgrade as yet
Despite assurances from Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan that South Africa would move to Stage 3 load-shedding overnight, Stage 4 power cuts continue on Thursday.
Eskom says that these rolling blackouts are expected to continue until 5am on Friday.
Gordhan said more expertise is needed at Eskom to deal with the rolling blackouts.
He said the board has been instructed to ensure necessary measures are taken to bring in a proper level of professionalism.
