KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pharmaceutical support at health facilities:

Undertake all aspects of ethical stock control, maintaining dedicated stock areas for organisation and expiry dates, and conducting cyclical and full stock-takes
Update minimum and maximum stock levels to ensure that the required stock is available at all times
Assist in all aspects of dispensing, procurement and ethical stock control
Ensure compliance with good clinical/pharmacy practice
Maintain the Stock Visibility Solution(SVS) and resolution
Support and market the Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) Programme
Issue CCMDD medicine parcels from the mobile pick-up point vans
Ensure utilisation of SyNCH and proper management of patient medicine parcels (PMPs)
Ensure the maintenance of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems
Support the maintenance of accurate and updated records on pharmacy activities
Maintain effective communication and facilitate query resolution
Perform related administrative and housekeeping tasks and other functions as necessary
Assist with and offer advice on the usage, side-effects, contraindications and storage of medication

Technical support:

Receive PMPs from the service provider using manual and electronic methods
Issue PMPs to the mobile PuPs and to patients
Manage PMP-related queries
Communicate with the patient when necessary
Receive PMP returns from the mobile PuPs
Maintain records of deliveries, issues to and returns from the driver, and upliftments
Monitor the Peleboxes for loading and off-loading
Provide Pelebox technical support
Routinely assess Peleboxes and provide related support at the clinic
Create monthly reports and invoices
Market the mobile PuPs and Peleboxes at the participating clinics

REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications

Registration as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) Skills and competencies:
Advanced MS Excel skills is essential
Fluency in English is essential and in isiZulu would be an advantage
Accuracy and attention to detail
A valid South African driver’s licence (Code 8/10)
Willingness to work across clinics and districts
