Port St Johns mayor Novuzo Mlombile-Cingo is urging people to be cautious.
The town has been lashed by heavy rains.
No fatalities or injuries have been reported.
Mlombile-Cingo says that infrastructure needs to be upgraded to avoid situations like this in the future.
