Pope Francis remembered
The service was the first major event in honour of the late pontiff since his passing at the age of 88 on Monday.
Sixty-seven-year-old Pinky Ramolodi travelled all the way from Soweto, a distance of about 20 kilometers, to pay tribute to the leader of the Catholic Church.
“He has completed the journey that he was called for and he did it delicately and with dedication. Even though he was sick, he was pushed in the wheelchair but he never backed up because he was a humble man. He cared for the needy, for the destitute, the immigrants and he was preaching about peace of the world,” said Ramolodi.
