Water issues expose poor state of municipalities

Managing director for Municipal IQ Kevin Allan says the water crisis gripping the country points to the poor state of our municipalities.

Municipal IQ is a data and intelligence service that monitors protests by communities.

The quality of SA’s water has come under intense scrutiny following the outbreak of cholera that has so far claimed 32 lives.

The release of the Blue Drop water report this week is also worrying.

It shows that half of the country’s drinking water has high levels of harmful bacteria.
