Pro-Phalt CEO: Leaders to blame for poor roads

The leadership is to blame for our poor roads according to Pro-Phalt CEO Mutshutshu Nxumalo, who says the road maintenance has nothing to do with politics.
He says it all boils down to leadership.
Social media has been awash lately with pictures of pockmarked roads as political parties campaign for votes ahead of the November municipal elections.
Nxumalo said, “the key is, are we going to fix these potholes properly so we can preserve these assets that are so critical to this country?”
“They are the biggest asset that the country has… the roads don’t discriminate whether your IFP, ANC, DA, or EFF you are going to use the road when you come from home going to work and you want a road that is usable… the unfortunate part is that the basics have been there… it is the neglect and the way that our officials have dropped the ball and unfortunately it goes with the leadership at the helm not taking charge and not pushing those officials to do the correct thing,” he said.
