Thembisa protests blamed on poor governance
The streets of Thembisa have been a battlefield this week with residents protesting over poor service delivery.
The unrest spiraled out of control leaving four people dead and infrastructure destroyed.
Among residents’ grievances was the high electricity tariffs.
The Southern African Institute for Responsive and Accountable Governance says this could have been avoided.
