Sassa crisis: Still no money for the poor and elderly

Hundreds of thousands of social grant beneficiaries have been without food for days as they have not received their Sassa payouts.

They were meant to be paid from the 5th of September.

A week and a half later, they are still waiting.

A technical glitch in the system is the official version.

While those in power bicker over who is ultimately responsible for the payment delay, beneficiaries are going hungry and getting deeper and deeper into debt.
