Police clamp down on crime in Evaton

Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela takes O Kae Molao to Evaton in Sedibeng this weekend.

The area has been experiencing an increase in stock theft and robberies.

“We decided to come back to Evaton, we came here earlier this year and we were not happy with the levels of crime. We then put measures in place and also advised the station commander and district commissioner of the need to heighten the operations,” he said.

“Tonight we are happy when we evaluate the impact of all the measures they have put in place. It is pleasing that there is a downward trend of crime but however common assault and GBH still remain a challenge.”
