Ex-KZN station commander accused of theft allegedly poisons herself

A former KwaZulu-Natal station commander has allegedly committed suicide shortly before the start of her trial.

Lieutenant-Colonel Ziningi Zulu of Mandeni SAPS was accused of stealing almost R108,000 — evidence from a 2018 ATM robbery.

IPID arrested Zulu last year.

The case will resume on 4 March for her defence team to produce a death certificate.
