Full job description

Applications are invited from dynamic, motivated individuals with general plumbing technical skills and knowledge, to assist with maintenance, general facilities management and general administration.

Reporting to the Foreman, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Administrative:

Maintain relevant and up-to-date records of all plumbing requirements
Maintain asset inventory
General assistance to the Foreman
Raise and close Job Cards on the maintenance management system

Handyman:

General plumbing maintenance function to quickly analyse and solve maintenance issues.
Efficiently source and control parts and spares
Deal with clients,service provider management and vendors
Report on snags, issues and items affecting building condition and performance
update vehicle log book
Assist the foreman/maintenance manager to investigate and keep up to date with new products and technology which can assist the organisation to reduce costs and improve service
Ensure employees, buildings and equipment meet the relevant safety requirements in terms of the OHS Act and any other relevant regulations

Minimum Requirements:

Matric
An accredited trade certificate from a recognized institution
2-4 years’ experience in general maintenance plumbing, including experience with hand and power tools
A valid driver’s licence (code EB) – with two years driving experience, accident-free
Computer literacy
Ability to work without supervision
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Good knowledge of health & safety requirements in the workplace
