Plan to reopen Toyota plant soon after KZN Floods

Toyota South Africa says deliveries of locally produced Hilux, Fortuner, and Corolla Cross vehicles continue to be delayed. In an update on Friday it said its flood-hit Durban plant remains closed.

However, the company says a meticulous phased plan to return the plant to working condition is underway. The good news is that the delivery of imported models is back at a usual pace.

The company’s plant in Prospecton, south of Durban suffered extensive damage in the floods. Thousands of vehicles have reportedly been written off.
