Rand Water carries out pipe maintenance

If you’re in certain parts of Gauteng, you may have to wait until Thursday morning for your taps to run normally.

Rand Water says there will either be none or very little water coming out of taps for the next 54 hours.

It’s conducting maintenance on a pipe to the Vereeniging water-purifying plant.

Rand Water COO Mahlomola Mehlo says provision has been made for places like hospitals and schools.

Water pressure will be affected in eight municipalities.

There are concerns that taps may run dry during peak hours.
