Rea Vaya operator PioTrans adds 6 new buses to the fleet

Rea Vaya operator PioTrans has added six new buses to its fleet.
On Thursday, Joburg Transport MMC Kenny Kunene provided an update on the embattled bus line in Soweto.
This follows a plethora of issues, including the halting of services, non-payment of creditors, and PioTran’s placement under business rescue.
MMC Kunene, alongside interim CEO of the bus line, Mahier Tayob, unveiled the buses revealing that 41 more feeder buses would be gradually added.
Shareholders who were once taxi owners sold their taxis nearly 12 years ago to be part of this local bus service.
However, corruption found its way into what some shareholders have labelled a one-of-a-kind dream.
MMC Kunene said some of the company’s imminent changes included increased profitability, job security, and a rejuvenated approach to the company’s day-to-day operations.
