Gomora’ star Israel Matseke-Zulu, who played Don on the popular telenovela had his leg amputated after gangrene diagnosis. Legendary actor Israel Matseke-Zulu, who played Don on Gomora has allegedly lost his leg following his struggle with gangrene.

Matseke-Zulu recently (October) confirmed he had to exit the popular telenovela due to his illness. Matseke-Zulu who’s been open about his struggle with gangrene, also revealed in several interviews that he asked Gomora producers to let him go.

He said he was struggling to get around on set and was using a wheelchair during his last scenes. The publication also adds that Matseke-Zulu spoke to them on Friday and confirmed the operation on his right leg. He also said he was recovering from the surgery and he is surrounded by his loved one’s at home.

Interestingly, Gomora has paid a subtle but moving tribute to Matseke-zulu in its storyline with Teddy (Sicelo Buthelezi), who plays his son in the TV drama, polishing his shoes as a way of dealing with his grief.
