Job Context:
Servest Office Services, a division of the Servest Group has vacancies for warehouse pickers and packers. These are for the central and western branches and report to the Operations Manager. A suitable candidate must have experience in hygiene or cleaning services or similar industries. Must be available immediately.
Minimum Requirements:
• Matric • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the similar position • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to perform tasks under pressure and within a deadline driven environment • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as a primary job responsibility • Capacity to lift and carry heavy items intermittently during a typical work shift • Must be technical minded and willing to learn
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, neat and well-organized.
- Packing incoming stock away, taking inventory and reporting shortages.
- Keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Picking orders as requested by management.
- Placing containers on pallets, and securing with stretch wrap, shrink wrap and strapping.
- Loading and unloading trucks /vans by using jacks and forklifts.
- Complying with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Assist with handling of orders from warehouse management or inventory
- Compare and inspect physical items pulled to the requirement of the picking slip
- Pack/Wrap orders as required
- Operate any material handling equipment following the established safety guidelines
- Participate in conducting warehouse inventory counts as and when required
