Coronavirus – Pick n Pay stores prioritising elderly shoppers

Pick n Pay will be prioritizing elderly shoppers by opening supermarkets and hypermarkets an hour earlier every Wednesday.

The elderly are particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus.

Pensioners over the age of 65 can bring their IDs to enter stores between 7 and 8 am.

The dedicated shopping hour will give the elderly exclusive use of the store.

The move is aimed at limiting the amount of time they spend in crowded spaces.

On Monday, several people in South Africa headed to supermarkets to stock up on goods amid coronavirus fears.

South Africa has 62 confirmed cases that tested positive for COVID-19.
