An opportunity has arisen for a special teacher to join our unique, progressive, independent and fast-growing school in Gardens in the intermediate phase. The class is a multi-grade class of grades 5, 6 and 7 and has a maximum of 10 children. The teacher will be required to teach all subjects within this phase.
Applicants must have a Bachelor of Education degree, be SACE registered (or can provide proof of application) and have at least 10 years teaching experience in the mainstream environment within these grades. Experience in other types of learning environments such as Montessori or IEB will be an advantage as will experience within a multi-grade or multi-level environment and experience working with children with barriers to learning. Applicants will also have to provide a police clearance certificate (or proof of application) and have their own transport.
This teacher must be passionate about individualized learning and developing children holistically, have excellent organizational, multi-tasking and computer skills and be able to work in a team with a desire to do things differently.
