It’s a big day at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala game farm in Limpopo.
Breeders are there for an auction of one of the top cattle breeds, the Ankole.
About 15 local and international breeders associations are expected to gather at the farm for the 11am start.
The Limpopo farm was thrust into the spotlight by revelations of a 2020 robbery.
It’s alleged that millions of US dollars were stolen there.
That money was earnings from one of the auctions at the now-famous Phala Phala farm, according to the Presidency.
Ramaphosa made history in 2004 when he brought the first Ankole genetics into South Africa.
The much sought-after cattle breed originates from Uganda and is named after the Banyakole people.
