There was a time when Penny Lebyane was South Africa’s IT girl and since then, the media personality has managed to successfully work throughout the years proving the staying power of talent.

She says that although she did not know how to label the things that were happening to her at the time, she can now look back and see that it was sexism, “I had no idea what sexism, marginalisation and all of those things meant, but I experienced all of those things without the context of knowing what they were. I only realised in hindsight what those things were.
