Family in dispute with Pastor Mboro hope his arrest results in justice being served

Members of the family in dispute with controversial pastor, Paseka ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng said they hope that his arrest will finally result in justice for the family.

Motsoeneng, his son, and his bodyguard made an appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on 12 charges, including kidnapping, discharging a firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of a prohibited firearm.

This is in relation to a video showing the pastor, his son, and bodyguard storming the Matsediso Primary School and forcibly grabbing two kids.

The three remain behind bars and will return to court next Friday for bail application.

While Pastor Mboro Motsoeneng, his son, and bodyguard remain bars, they have also opened counter-charges of intimidation and assault against the children’s maternal grandmother and uncle.

Family member, Kgadi Hlalele, said that this was not the first time that Mboro threatened them with machetes.

“He has done this before. He has pulled out a gun on the children’s grandmother and the late grandfather before. We tried to open a case but we made no progress and disappeared.”

She said that Mboro and the Katlehong Police Station manager, Victoria Gumbi, had a relationship that keeps the pastor from being held accountable.

Gumbi has also opened an assault charge against the children’s grandmother and uncle and they will return to court next month.
