Big Easy at the Hilton Hotel:
Start the new year the Big Easy way. For R1250 per person, their package includes a 5-course set menu from 7 pm to 10.30pm, followed by an after-party on the terrace until 2 am. Ballito NYE street party:
The 14th Ballito NYE party will feature three dance floors, multiple bars and music from the likes of Chunda Munki, Timo ODV and many other DJs. Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets, on sale at web tickets.co.za, cost between R250 and R450. No under-18s.
10th Annual Gospel All-Stars:
The prayer event, featuring gospel artists from all over South Africa, pastors, motivational speakers and MCs, will take place at the Durban Centrum Park, next to the Workshop shopping centre, on New Year’s Eve. Rebecca, Benjamin Dube, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Babo and Dumi Mkokstad will be some of the performers. Tickets, at R150, are available at Computicket.
Beyond The Event Horizon Trilogy at Ollivanders Estate, Shongweni:
This event, starting tomorrow (Sunday), will feature artists such as Major 7 (Israel M7 Records), Xnoize (Israel M7 Records), I am Sputnik (Switzerland), Hitstoned (Amsterdam), Amodkit and Shift from Cape Town and Dr Ziodburg, Boogie Monster and Solara from Joburg. Cameras, blankets, picnic baskets, folding chairs and camping supplies can be brought. The event continues into New Year’s Day. Tickets cost R350 at Computicket.
Havana Nights NYE 2018, at Beach Bums, Casuarina Beach, La Mercy. Durban North Coast:
Havana Nights is the theme at Beach Bums for their New Year’s Eve Spectacular. Tickets cost R500 at Computicket.
NYE Ultra Violet Circus at Tiger Tiger Stamford Hill, Durban:
A music fest for party-goers in the Durban area. Tickets cost R80 at Computicket.
Smoking Dragon Music Festival:
Hosted by the Amphitheatre Backpackers Lodge, this music fest takes place in the foothills of one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world, in the northern Drakensberg. The festival has several stages, and the line-up of artists for the event includes the Nenoblues, Trigga, Katrina Quinn, Savage Lucy, and The Muffinz. Woz’eDurban Picnic:
On New Year’s Day, Oskido, Mlindo The Vocalist and Bongo Maffin will entertain crowds at the Greyville Racecourse inner fields. Tickets start from R100 at Computicket.
