Finance Minister Tito Mboweni delivered a sobering medium-term budget on Wednesday. On Thursday, he will respond to questions on his mini-budget in Parliament.
Mboweni said this year the national debt exceeded R3-trillion and it is expected to rise to R4,5-trillion in the next three years.
The minister said state-owned entities need to wean themselves off the national budget.

Singer, Zahara still has an interest in signing ex-Idols contestants Viggy and Virginia Qwabe. She made a promise to the twins, whilst they were in the running to become the next South African idol, that she would help get their careers up and running.
Despite the dramatic exit from the competition by Viggy, after her sister Virginia was eliminated, many feared that we might not hear from the twins ever again.
