Parliament is continuing with a process to determine whether the president was correct in firing senior prosecutors Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi.
Cyril Ramaphosa sacked the duo following the recommendations of the Mokgoro report. The president referred his decision to Parliament for approval.
Jiba’s lawyers are asking the Speaker to halt the process pending a legal review.
She’s asking the court to set aside the report. The NPA has yet to fill Jiba and Mrwebi’s positions until Parliament gives the final word.
