Urgent bail application sought for Parliament fire suspect

Lawyers will bring an urgent application on Saturday for alleged Parliament arsonist Zandile Mafe, to be released on bail.

Mafe has been referred to the Valkenberg psychiatric hospital for mental observation after a district surgeon found he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.

The 49-year-old is facing multiple charges, including arson and terrorism.
