Paarl nurses honoured by Gift of the Givers

More than 300 nurses from the Paarl Provincial Hospital were honoured on International Nurses’ Day.

Gift of the Givers says health workers have been the backbone of the country for the two and half years during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many of the nurses have lost loved ones or colleagues to the virus and on Thursday they were honoured for their contribution.

Paarl Provincial CEO Francois Van Der Watt said: “Just thank you for your sacrifice, thank you for being willing to pitch up when others could stay home. We really appreciate the sacrifices you’ve made, we salute your bravery and we celebrate your kindness.”
The Paarl Provincial Hospital management says it lost two staff members from the virus.
