Ramaphosa: ANC aiming for outright victory, not coalitions in 2024

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa said his party will be campaigning for an outright victory and not coalitions in next year’s general elections.

Ramaphosa addressed the ANC’s national election strategy workshop in Boksburg virtually on Saturday.

The workshop included representatives from the tripartite alliance – the SACP and Cosatu.

With several polls showing the ANC was in danger of falling below 50 percent support in the general elections for the first time, Ramaphosa said it was imperative that the party united behind one campaign idea.

“If we can muster how we carry our campaign forward, how we plaster the whole country from wall to wall with an ANC message and have really effective volunteers as of old in our campaigning method, this election is ours and victory is certain,” he said.
