Nomzamo Mbatha just had one of the best full-circle moments of her career. The actress was a keynote speaker at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg and Miss O herself introduced Nomzamo to the stage. She was invited to address learners at the Class of 2019 Valedictory Ceremony.
“It’s not every day that you get to be introduced by the incomparable Oprah Winfrey. I remember when I was 14 and the announcement was made that she would be conducting interviews with young girls across the country that would join the academy, I was devastated!! I even considered dropping two grades down JUST so I could attend,” she wrote on Instagram. To have the opportunity to be in an institution that nurtures young girls from all backgrounds. Fast forward to today and I am giving the Keynote Address at the Class of 2019 Valedictory Ceremony. What a full circle it is for me today. What an honour for Mama O to introduce me.
“I know my angels in heaven are having a sing and dance. Today was a humbling day. Today was a good day. Dear 15-year-old Zamo… Guess what, it gets sunnier as we go along. Nomzamo’s famous friends, including Nhlanhla Nciza, Gail Mabalane and WHO, congratulated her on the “wow moment” Uhm… this is f**kin’ hectic,” rapper AKA commented.

As my favourite saying goes, ‘If you’re dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough’. J’Something added: “Wow. 2019 just keeps getting better for Nomzamo. She recently wrapped up shooting on Coming 2 America in Atlanta, Georgia. The movie stars Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, and James Earl Jones. Nomzamo was also in Abu Dhabi a few days ago for the F1 Grand Prix. She got to hang out with British driver Lewis Hamilton after his big win.
