Operation Vala Umgodi: 13 illegal immigrants nabbed in Mpumalanga! Thirteen illegal immigrants have been arrested following Vala Umgodi operations in Mpumalanga.
Police arrested the group in Low’s Creek, where the suspects were found to be in the country without proper documentation.
The group, aged between 18 and 43, are expected to appear before the Barberton Magistrates Court on Monday.

Meanwhile, in another Vala Umgodi operation, police nabbed 23 suspects at the Nkanini informal settlement in Sabie.
In this group, 20 were charged for contravention of the Immigration Act and three were charged for the possession of gold-bearing material.
Spokesperson Mpho Nonyane said the suspects were expected to appear at the Sabie Magistrates Court on Monday.
“Members from combat, proactive as well as Phoenix security carried out this intelligence-driven operation and were able to confiscate several items, including gas cylinders, gold-bearing materials, and other illegal mining equipment.”
