One seriously, multiple others injured in taxi accident

One seriously, multiple others injured in taxi accident… At 15H35 Sunday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N2 just before the Joyner Road off-ramp.

Reports indicate that the driver of a taxi lost control, resulting in a rollover. On arrival of medics, they found the taxi lying on its side, next to the Road.

Eleven patients were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. One patient was found to have sustained critical injuries after being ejected during the rollover, with the taxi coming to rest on top of him.

On the scene were the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, Durban Metropolitan Police, Government ems and SAPS. The critically injured patient was treated on scene by an Emergency Care Practitioner and once stabilised was transported to the hospital for further care.

The other patients were transported to the hospital by Netcare 911 and Government ems.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has released an opposing affidavit in the case being brought by the United Democratic Movement (UDM) and 18 others, clarifying the government’s position on the provision of electricity under the Constitution.
