Rumour: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer agrees to become permanent United manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer agrees to become permanent United manager. Solskjaer took over the reins at United as a caretaker coach in December 2018, after the Premier League giants sacked Jose Mourinho following a string of disappointing results.

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the interim manager to become the Red Devils boss on a permanent basis.

The Norwegian tactician, who guided the club to an 11-game unbeaten streak before succumbing to defeat to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League last week, was recently spotted with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at an Italian restaurant in England, suggesting that his future with United has been ironed out.

According to Sun Sport, Solskjaer and Woodward discussed the finer details of the manager’s next contract with the club during a dinner that lasted three hours.

Upon the conclusion of their talk, Woodward reportedly shook the United legend’s hand and said, “Here’s to a long and successful relationship together”.

United are back in contention for an automatic Champions League berth this season, and currently occupy fourth position on the table, with 51 points amassed from a possible 78.
