An offroad biker was flown to the hospital in a serious condition. At 15H57 Friday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on a dirt road off the R61 in Marina Beach on the KZN South Coast.
Reports from the scene indicate that a 29-year-old male motorcyclist allegedly drove into the back of a light delivery vehicle.
The patient was assessed on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic and found to have sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the bakkie escaped injury. The off-road motorcyclist required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise him and due to the nature of his injuries, the Netcare 5 specialised helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the patient to a specialist hospital for further treatment.
