Sign language added as South Africa 12th official language

A watershed moment for the Deaf Community has been marked.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed The South African Sign Language Bill into law.

This makes Sign Language the country’s 12th official language.

On Wednesday the National Assembly approved that Section 6 of the Constitution be amended.
