Nota Baloyi and Berita finally end their union

Nota Baloyi and Berita have finalized their divorce which officially ends their marriage after over a year of separation.

In 2022, the singer whose real name is Gugulethu Khumalo said that her marriage with the controversial presenter had ended.I am no longer married to Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi. I left our marital home on Thursday the 13 of January 2022. As it stands we are currently separated.

“I have been quiet because my [safety] has been a huge concern. This man is extremely irresponsible, reckless, and unruly. He simply does not listen to anyone. I do not condone his actions. I cannot even begin to count the numerous times he has erred in his speech,” she said.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, Nota announced he was going to court to finalise his divorce from his ex-wife. Okay, I’m definitely missing the inauguration… At least I’m getting half & I lost nothing!” he wrote on X.

In an interview with Kaya959 in February last year, Berita said she had vivid memories of the day she left her marriage. She had to call a therapist that day. She said it was then that she had discovered she was in a narcissistically abusive relationship with her estranged husband, Nota Baloyi.

“I spent an hour and a-half telling him exactly what was going on in the relationship, and the entire time I thought it was rage. This is someone who is going through stuff. The day I learned that I was in an abusive relationship, I did not stay one minute and made plans to get out of there,” she said.

She recalled that on the day she left, she booked herself into a Bed and Breakfast and never returned to her marital home.
