Norton MP Temba Mliswa suspends Mnangagwa’s lockdown regulations

Norton MP Temba Mliswa suspends Mnangagwa’s lockdown regulations. Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has announced that his constituency has suspended the indefinite Coronavirus lockdown regulation imposed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Writing on Twitter, Mliswa said, “The Norton Covid19 Taskforce has resolved that the lockdown should simply be suspended because it’s not working. People have since come out and begun trading and moving about due to hunger. What is left is merely an official government position that isn’t being adhered to by any.”

The firebrand MP argued that that the lockdown was harmful to the economy.

“Secondly according to scientific figures 80% may be infected but less than 5% will be serious. In light of this it’s better to face the virus& get the country running again than have us in a false lockdown that isn’t really being followed whilst the economy is going to waste.”

Responding to Mliswa, Mpilo clinical director Solwayo Ngwenya said, “Honourable I will like to see you face the virus or treat Covid-19 patients! Such political bravery. I am going to look for you in September or so and ask for your comments.”
